With a view to strengthening the national healthcare system, the Ministry of Healthcare Access and Coverage is working on a new public investment program covering the period 2026-2028. A technical meeting was held in August in Tsévié to launch the preparatory work for this strategic initiative.

This program will serve as a guiding framework for the ministry's future investments. The aim is to ensure consistency with the objectives set out in the government's roadmap, targeting priority areas such as universal health insurance (AMU) and concrete actions to promote broader access to health services.

The Togolese government continues to face significant challenges in terms of health coverage, particularly in rural areas. To reduce these inequalities, the authorities are stepping up local initiatives with the aim of making healthcare accessible to the entire population, regardless of where they live.

The program currently being developed should promote the deployment of health infrastructure, the strengthening of medical equipment, and an increase in healthcare personnel. This forward planning aims to build a more resilient healthcare system that is in line with the real needs of the population.
