Aortic and mitral regurgitation is a condition in which blood flows backwards to the heart. The patient feels short of breath, experiences chest pain and the risk of death is real.

According to a study published in the journal « Gut », excess antibiotics can also increase the risk of colon cancer. Even after a single treatment, the risk of developing this cancer is slightly increased ten years later. Antibiotic-induced changes to the intestinal microbiome may be to blame.
