Every day, the body is put to the test by factors such as poor diet,
stress, dehydration and a sedentary lifestyle. These factors affect the proper
functioning of vital organs, in particular the liver, pancreas and kidneys.
These play a vital role in digestion, purifying the body, balancing hormones
and eliminating toxins. Here are a few simple and effective tips to energize
them.
To strengthen the liver, pancreas and kidneys, eat a diet rich in fruit,
vegetables, fibre and antioxidants, while limiting saturated fats, added sugars
and alcohol. Regular hydration, physical activity and stress management are
also important for the health of these vital organs.
Best detox fruits
Industrial fruit juices are far from being health allies. Packed with added
sugars and preservatives, they force the liver to work harder. Eat a variety of
fresh, raw fruits, rich in vitamins, antioxidants and fiber. Among the most
organ-boosting fruits are lemons, oranges and mandarins, grapefruit, papaya,
pineapple and melon.
Choose revitalizing vegetables
Certain vegetables have medicinal properties that directly help revitalize
the liver, pancreas and kidneys. Grated raw carrots are diuretic and
antioxidant. It supports the elimination of toxins. Beet, powerful in
antioxidants, cleanses the blood and supports liver function. Raw onion
purifies, acts as a natural antibiotic and stimulates digestion.
Drink plenty of water and get moving
Drink water, as the kidneys need it to filter out waste, and the liver to
metabolize toxins. Drink at least 1.5 to 2 liters of water a day, especially if
you eat a lot of fibre. Exercise is recommended on a daily basis. Physical
activity such as walking or swimming stimulates blood circulation. It aids elimination
and reduces stress, a major enemy of the digestive system.
Avoid silent enemies
Certain foods and daily habits directly impair organ function. These
include excessive salt, which fatigues the kidneys, refined sugars and flours,
pre-cooked meals, industrial dishes, alcohol and tobacco, fizzy and sugary
drinks, red meats and fatty foods.
Natural remedy
Take the juice of half a lemon, 1 glass of water (250 ml), 1 tablespoon baking soda. Mix the bicarbonate with the water and add the lemon juice. Drink slowly on an empty stomach. Do this cure for 4 days, rest for 1 week, then repeat if necessary.
