watermelon, oysters, and especially ginger are natural foods recommended to
maintain virility and sexual desire. However, there are certain foods that should
be reduced significantly to preserve one's sexual well-being.
There are foods that hinder
having a normal and fulfilling sexual relationship. If one wants to increase
desire, it's advisable to avoid or limit these foods on the plate.
Alcohol
Many people believe that
alcohol is very good before sexual intercourse. Some even believe that
consuming a little alcohol increases their sexual urges. However, in most
cases, people do not stop and consume even more alcohol, which decreases their
libido. Too much alcohol kills sexual desire and male virility. It also reduces
testosterone production in men.
Excessive
coffee
Reducing or moderating
coffee consumption can increase libido. Drinking more than 5 to 6 cups of
coffee each day can cause damage to the adrenal glands. Excessive coffee
consumption reduces adrenal gland function, leading to increased production of
stress hormones. Severe stress can lead to total failure in bed and sexual
imbalance. Therefore, it's advisable to limit coffee intake to one or two cups
per day.
Carbonated
drinks
Carbonated drinks cause
sexual dysfunction. Any carbonated drink should be avoided before sexual
intercourse and should also be consumed in small quantities if one wishes not
to compromise their libido. These drinks are also responsible for dehydration,
obesity, and tooth decay.
Artificial
sweeteners
All artificial sweeteners
contain aspartame, a substance that reduces serotonin release in the body.
Serotonin is the main chemical that increases libido and sexual drive; it controls
mood. Lack of serotonin leads to a decrease in sexual desire.
Canned
foods
Canned foods contain high
amounts of sodium. Consuming too much canned food can also lower potassium
levels and reduce blood flow to the genital organs. Canned foods cause loss of
vigor and sexual drive.
Processed
foods
Reduce all kinds of
processed foods, especially sausages, ham, salami, hot dogs, and deli meats.
These are food products treated with antibiotics, preservatives, and artificial
growth hormones. They also contain fatty acids that can cause energy crashes.
Additionally, they are responsible for a decrease in sperm count and quality.
Sugar
Excessive consumption of
sugary products is harmful to the arteries. Ice cream, sugary drinks, cause
spikes in blood sugar levels, which will eventually significantly decrease
testosterone levels. The amount of testosterone in men and women is directly
related to libido and sexual desire.
Fried
foods
Significantly reduce the
